welcome to oldways, food issues think tank

OldWays - Food Issues Think Tank helping consumers make wise food choices for life!

Oldways and the Harvard School of Public Health joined forces in 2001 to create the Practical Nutrition for Physicians Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program. The purpose of the program is not only to provide physicians with a means to achieve CME credits but also to further their learning by adding a culture and cuisine aspect, focused on the source of ingredients used in meals as well as participation in cooking demonstrations. The initial CME program was in Liguria, Italy in May 2001, and drew physicians, dietitians, and allied health professionals with various specialties from all over the US. Those who attended this weeklong program focusing on the healthy traditional Mediterranean Diet earned 25 CME credit hours as well as great experiences outside of the classroom eating this traditional diet. This program was followed one in Bordeaux, France in 2002 as well as one in Tuscany, Italy in June 2004.

Oldways also offers CPE credits for some programs, with approval through the state dietetic associations or from the Commission on Dietetic Registration through the American Dietetic Association. The number of CPE credits is generally based upon the number of hours included in the program.
