OldWays - Food Issues Think Tank helping consumers make wise food choices for life!

K. Dun Gifford is President of Oldways Preservation Trust, which he founded in 1990 in Boston to promote healthy eating and drinking, to encourage traditional and sustainable food choices, and to develop effective programs for helping consumers change their food choice behaviors.

Gifford graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, served in the U.S. Navy, and was Legislative Assistant to Senator Edward F. Kennedy and a National Campaign Coordinator for Senator Robert F. Kennedy. He was an officer of Cabot, Cabot & Forbes; Chairman of Common Cause/Massachusetts; Chairman of the American Institute of Wine & Food; and Chairman of the Nantucket Electric Company. He has owned and managed a number of restaurants in Boston and Cambridge, and founded a food business (Kilvert & Forbes) with John Kerry, now a U.S. Senator.

Sara Baer-Sinnott, Executive Vice President of Oldways Preservation Trust, is deeply involved in all aspects of Oldways educational programs and initiatives. Passionate about making a difference in people's lives all over the world, Sara joined Oldways in 1992 and has been instrumental in spreading the Oldways message of healthy eating to a wide international audience. She was named by Health Magazine as one nutrition's most influential women in 2001.

Prior to joining Oldways, Sara was Special Projects Editor at Inc. Magazine. During her seven-year tenure, she directed a series of high profile events, established the magazine's internship program, and managed all annual, business-sector special reports for the editorial department.

Before joining Inc. Magazine, Sara has worked as a research consultant for private firms and in state and federal government positions in the fields of environmental resources, business, and education.

She graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a B.A. in Economics and received her Master's Degree in Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
